Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is worth approaching through texture as well as aroma. A pale-looking red can still have considerable tannin and acidity.
Colour does not tell you the grip
Taste before assuming a lighter colour means a gentle wine. Give the tannin and acidity their own line in your notes; both can change how comfortable the wine feels beside a dish.
Treat aeration as a decision
Taste a small pour before decanting the whole bottle. Age and condition matter, and a longer decant does not automatically improve a wine. Use the decanting guide as a starting point, then check the glass.
Keep the exact name in your notes
A grape name is not enough to identify a bottle you want to buy again. Save the producer, wine name and vintage where you know it. Keeping those details makes comparisons between your Piedmont tastings more useful.
