Sparkling wines
Sparkling wine can accompany food as well as a toast. Its sweetness and weight still matter when choosing the dish.

Check how sweet it is
Bubbles do not establish dryness. Read the style or producer description, especially when choosing for dessert. A sweet dish can make a very dry sparkling wine seem sharper.
Try it with something crisp
Fried or salty bites can be a useful starting point. Account for a sweet dipping sauce or chilli coating too. Serve chilled and let the glass warm a little if the aromas seem muted.
