Winevery for Claude
A better bottle, a conversation away.
Search for a wine you know, compare what to try next and choose a bottle for dinner. Winevery brings its catalogue and matching tools into Claude.

- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector, or Add → Custom → Web.
- Enter Winevery as the name and
https://www.winevery.com/api/mcpas the server URL. - Choose No sign in, then add the connector and enable its tools.
- Ask Claude to use Winevery for a wine search or food pairing.
The four catalogue tools are free to connect. A Winevery account, Passport membership, API key and OAuth credentials are not required.

Four tools, with clear limits
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
search_wines | Search by name, producer, grape or region. Filter by country and wine type, with up to 12 results per page. |
get_wine | Look up a Winevery ID or slug to see recorded taste structure, food families, a price snapshot and a review summary where available. |
find_similar_wines | Compare a wine with a ranked shortlist using its style, grape and recorded taste structure. A budget requires a currency. |
pair_wine_with_food | Get up to three recommendations for a dish, with matching reasons and cautions. Describe ingredients in English; Claude can translate first. |
Search resolves wine names to stable Winevery IDs. Similarity and food pairing return recorded matching reasons. Every bottle links to its Winevery profile. A shortlist is a set of candidates to compare, rather than an exhaustive search of shops.
For a budget, specify both an amount and a currency, such as EUR 25. Budget results exclude wines without a stored price in that currency. Prices are catalogue snapshots; their dates may be unknown. They do not establish current availability, and currencies are not converted.
Food descriptions should use English dish or ingredient names. Claude can translate your description before calling the tool. If a dish is not recognised, add its main ingredients and cooking method.
Data and access
The connector reads public wine records, optional price snapshots and available review summaries. It does not read your Winevery account, cellar, journal, billing details or personal palate profile. Signing in to the website does not change MCP access.
Winevery receives the arguments of the tool calls Claude sends, such as a wine name or dish description. It does not receive your general Claude conversation. Tool responses are returned to Anthropic so Claude can answer you. See the connector privacy notice and the website privacy policy.
Disconnect Winevery or disable its tools in Claude to stop future tool calls. For website Passport features, visit Winevery membership.
Troubleshooting
The server URL shows an error in my browser
The MCP URL accepts protocol POST requests. Opening it as a webpage returns HTTP 405. Paste it into Claude’s connector settings; this documentation page is the browser-readable guide.
Claude shows no tools
Confirm the exact server URL above, use No sign in and refresh the connector’s tools. Remove an old configuration and add it again if necessary. A directory listing and a custom connector are separate ways to discover the same tools.
A budget or wine search returns nothing
Try a producer or grape name without a vintage, or broaden the region. A missing price cannot satisfy a budget. Currency filters only use prices recorded in the requested currency.
Too many requests
Wait one minute and retry. HTTP 429 responses include Retry-After. Source limits may be shared by people connecting through the same proxy.
Something still looks wrong
Contact hello@winevery.com with the tool name, time, error and a non-sensitive example. Do not send passwords, payment details or your full Claude conversation. More help is available on our support page.
For reviewers and developers
The endpoint uses stateless MCP Streamable HTTP with JSON responses. All four tools are read-only and non-destructive. There are no writes, purchases, OAuth permissions, persistent MCP sessions or server event streams.
Reviewers can run every tool immediately against the populated public catalogue. Dedicated website demo credentials, sample data and an account-isolation check are supplied privately in the submission. Those website accounts are separate from MCP authentication.
Version 1.0 launched on 2 November 2026. Its tools cover search, wine details, similar wines and food pairing. Public brand assets: 512-pixel PNG icon and SVG icon. Security reports can be sent through our security contact.
